Deplorable Service
AvaoidWhen Mayhall towing-MDM Inc (Order #999172) picked my Beetle up on 2/11/21 at my condo in Huntsville, it was washed, it was daytime and whatever scratches it had was be clearly visible.
I got a call from the driver at 10 am today 2/13/21, saying that it would be delivered tomorrow morning 2/14/21 and that they'd give me another when they were and hour away. Later the same evening 2/13/21, I got a call from another driver that could not speak clear English, I thought he was Spanish so I had my Spanish daughter in law talk to him to try and make sense of what he was trying to say. After 30 minutes and frustration, I could make out that he was going to drop it off at 8-9 this evening, 2/13/21. I got another call from the same broken English speaking driver saying he was 25 minutes out. I said please call me when you get down stairs because I can't understand you!
He arrived in the dead of dark, the car was muddy as *** even on the roof. I told him, I can't verify if there weren't any additional scratches on my car because its too dark and I can't see anything because of the MUD!
And when I tried to pay him, he was surprised. National movers booked this transport company and they told me in an email that I was to pay him 1,325.00 upon delivery, I'm as confused as the no English speaking driver.
The level of service that I've received from Montway Transport has been deplorable.

This is how they treat American Soldiers.
I was also given a 5-day window when the vehicle would be picked up. On day 4, I was given a call that my vehicle would be picked up and was also told that the price went up. Wait, Mont way and I agreed on a specific price for door to door service. The new location for pick up is 3 hours away from the door-to-door price agreed upon.
I would not consider this a door-to-door service Is this how you treat Soldiers? I had no choice but to pay the additional $300 ($1149) because I am deploying overseas in a few days. My next step is to blacklist them and inform other Soldiers not to use them for their false advertisement when agreeing upon a door to door shipping price.
Thanks, Montway Auto Transport for the false service you provide for military Soldiers that serve this nation. They held the price until a carrier is assigned then jack it up.

So I took the cars for $600, then decided let me give $300 back oneach vehicle. Oh but it’s only 1 now.
Gas is $180 per 600 miles, toll is $128. I have a 2 car trailer, even with 2 cars it makes no sense that I would take the job.

Even the revision makes no sense
They send me over a revised contract for $300. The mistake I made is I signed after being notified I must sign the revise contract. It was only supposed to take the one car off. Long story short no supervisor will get on the phone with me, for 3 weeks now you only get first names & no one will give me a name for a supervisor.
They record all calls so all they have to do is go to the recording (which I’m sure they did). Job was posted at $300 for 1 car, (which was already gone) $350 for the 1 I picked up. I told them I can get both for $600 a Pc they called 2 days later and said the offer was excepted. But now they are saying it was $600 for the 2 cars.
Basically I told them to take $50 off I don’t need it I will do it for less then you are offering.
This is a classic “switch and bait”. Show the audio tape!

GARBAGE
BOTTOM LINE UP FRONT GO ELSEWHERE HORRIBLE SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM ANYONE.
If I could select no stars I would have. I asked to have a Honda pilot shipped from CA to MN and was told it would be picked up on Wednesday and delivered by the following tue or wed (costing me over $1200). Then when they assigned a driver I called to verify and the driver said no way until the following fri. So I called back to montway and they dropped that company and called with a new one called interstate roadrunner Inc.
they said it would be there the following wed or thur am at the latest. I bought plane tickets and planned around all of these dates they said would be no problem. Being military and not having a lot of time to play with I thought no problem it’s only a 21-23 hr drive and they can drive 11 hrs. a day at least.
So I fly to MN on that Monday stay until thur midday. I call Montway tue they say everything is good for the afternoon on wed. Call wed because they seem to be very deceiving on the phone and guess what won’t be there till thur morning. Call again wed afternoon to once again make sure because I have a flight to catch and oh it wont make it truck got a flat in Nebraska.
Never once did they call me only me calling them and it was nope wont make it thur morning but it will be there thur afternoon. I also had to have the person I was shipping the car for take the days off work expecting the car to arrive. (More money wasted) At this point I am tired of talking to Montway because all they do is say oh its never guaranteed and there is nothing they can do. Blah blah blah the worst customer service I have ever had with a company and I am a very patient person, just wanted the truth.
So here we are thur afternoon at this point I am only talking to Interstate roadrunner inc. After I have flown back to CA and interstate roadrunner says oh it will be there Friday, so not able for the person receiving the vehicle to take another day off work I say ok please deliver at 530pm on Friday. Call Friday to confirm delivery and guess what they don’t have a truck to deliver it this truck broke too but you can drive 45-60 min to us and get it! Are you serious?

Beyond upset at this point I ask if I can have money taken off bill for the delays and hassle oh but that guy went home for the weekend and unless you want to wait till Monday to get your car and talk to the guy who can take money off then we can do that. So I said no I want my car, can you deliver it on sat at 530pm due to the person receiving it having to work again they said yes no problem. I call sat at lunch time to make sure again that they will deliver yes no problem 1 hr later driver calls barely speaking English wanting someone for pick up earlier than 530pm.
so after telling them no and telling them it must be there at 530pm they decided to deliver, then asked the person receiving for a price $70 higher than what was agreed upon. It was to the point that if it did not show up or they made another excuse I was going to report it stolen.
I am amazed in our day and age with technology and competency that this went so bad. Why not have tracking on the trucks oh I know because then you can really see what they are doing.

Montway's Deceitful Practices
My car was unusually late. The driver had lame excuses, but I was patient a few extra days.
My Mercedes arrived after being shipped cross country. The driver arrived a a lot nearby my construction job and had me show up 30 minutes later so the car was already off the carrier, it had been driven a bit, and the windows were open. Seemed odd, but after a cursory look, seemed OK. The driver oddly refused a $20 tip and hurried off.
Two days later the car began to smell very musty and moldy. I found small shards of glass on the floor and then noticed my children's school decals were missing off the rear window. Turns out that the window had been shattered and replaced without my knowledge and the car had been exposed to the weather (rain !!). Montway refuses any responsibility for the trucker they booked.
Shame on you MONTWAY for trying to cheat and deceive your customer. #Montwayripoff #Montwaywillfuldeceit

Our transport job worked out to satisfaction
I actually loved the diagram that was created before the driver loaded my auto, showing any prior scratches or marks with a little symbol. I did not have to worry about photo-documenting the condition of my auto. The driver was very professional in loading, and confirming paperwork.
